About Querlina
At Querlina, we look closely at the visible character of candles and melted wax. A flame may appear as a narrow white point, a broad amber shape, or a wavering glow reflected across a pool of liquid wax. Around it, surfaces bend and change: pillar tops become uneven, drips gather into ridges, and translucent edges deepen in color. These photographs range from quiet single-candle studies to playful birthday arrangements, allowing different forms and moods to sit beside one another. Red blocks rise against black space, a white pillar rests in a shallow metal dish, and curling tapers cross above a chocolate cake. Even unlit candles contribute their own textures through worn surfaces, recessed tops, and upright wicks. Our editorial approach stays with what can be seen: proportion, shadow, material, placement, and the momentary relationship between flame and wax. The result is a grounded study of familiar objects continually reshaped by light and heat.
